Seward ~Prima May BAP~

I did this page for the Prima May BAP.  I got a head start this month.  They haven't even posted the BAP on there blog yet, but it's in the emailed news letter.

These are pictures of our trip to Seward, AK over Mothers Day weekend.  We had such a great time.  The harbor was gorgeous and there were wild sea lion, otters, and bald eagle everywhere.  I've never seen so many wild animal that weren't in the zoo before.  It was definitely the best trip ever.

Thanks for visiting my blog!!! I'll put the link to the BAP when they post it

A Teen's Life ~My Minds Eye Blog Challenge #23

I did this page for the My Minds Eye Blog Challenge #23.  I absolutely love the Stella Rose Hattie Collection by My Minds Eye...It's perfect for all my boy pages.  These are pictures of my oldest son.  It was rare occasion to get some pictures of him.  I swear he hates the camera.  So I was super excited when I got these shots over the weekend.   Here's a few closeups.

Reveal Day at My Creative Scrapbook

I was asked to be a guest designer for My Creative Scrapbook for May.  I designed using the Creative Kit...it is so cute.  I just love the new Echo Park Springtime Collection and there's also a little bit of LYB's Elizabeth Park Collection in there too.   I was able to make some very bright and cheery pages. Here's the link to check out all the amazing kits and DT gallery My Creative Scrapbook

My first page is of my daughter and youngest son playing on a tire swing.  I used a Martha Stewart border punch and decorative scissors to make the border.

This page is pretty simple, but I loved this page so much...I just had to use it.  I just added a few extra clouds with foam square to give it some extra definition.

This is a picture of my daughter last Spring.  I could never find the right papers to match this photo, until now.  The pale yellow and pink went perfectly.

I did a little fussy cutting on the diecut to put over the corner of the picture.  And I fussy cut the trees and some of the flowers.  The flower pack that came in the kit  is so cute.

I had a lot of fun making this page.  I love the bright pink paper...it matches the photos so well.  This is a picture of Alexis (my daughter) blowing bubbles.  She had been begging me to buy her the new Crayola Bubbles...the colored ones.  Oh my goodness it's like paint, it got all over her shirt and jean.  I washed her clothes right away and luckily they came clean.  I think if I would have waited for the bubble solution (paint) to dry, it would have never come out.

I did a few different things with this page.  I did some stitching with my sewing machine...which I am horrible at...I can't believe I didn't ruin my page...lol.  I threaded some ribbon through the punched border.  And to make the circle border, I punched out a lot of little circles, inked them and adhered them to the back of the big circle.

And last but not least, Alexis letters.  It was actually her idea to use the kit to decorate the letters.  It was very time consuming to make these, but to see the look and her face when they were done was worth it.

Happy Mothers Day

I wanted to make a Mothers Day card for my mom, but I always struggle to make cards.  I don't know what it is, but I have the hardest time making them.  I started this card about 3 days ago and I just couldn't find the right title.  I knew that I wanted it to say Happy Mothers Day, but I tried all my alphabets and I still could find anything that looked good.  And then I ventured to the Prima blog and saw Karola Witczak's beautiful Mothers Day Cards, and I knew that her little banner title would work perfectly.  Here's the link to view her cards http://prima.typepad.com/prima/2011/05/mothers-day.html.  Thanks Karola for the great idea.

Ice Princess

Well I was finally able to play with my Prima Canvas.  I started this a couple weeks ago and finished it up last night.  I had so much fun using this canvas. I'm not much of a Glimmer Mist kind of person...not that I don't love them...I do...I'm just afraid of using them...lol. I'm so scared that I'm going to ruin my page.  I decided to go for it and I love how this page turned out.  I think I'll have to use Glimmer Mist more often.

This is a picture of my daughter on our hike about 3 weeks ago.  There was still snow on the ground and she was playing in it.  She loves her kitty hat.

Here's a close up of the flower cluster. I used a lot of flowers for this page. Mostly new Prima flowers.  The little clear crystals are Prima Candy Gems that I cut from the original stem and tied around the almond branch.  If you look close enough there is a bird on the big pink flower.  You can see it plain as day IRL, but the coloring is off in the picture for some reason.

This is just a closeup of the top right corner of the page.  I love the Birdsong collection...the bird was originally cream color, but I inked and misted it.
